1. Dr.Vallabh Dhaimodkar had organized and participated in “Awareness on HIV and AIDS” in association with GSACS on Friday, 9th Jan 2015, at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.,Verna,where around 35 employees had participated.Dr.Rahul Ramkrishnan,Dep.Director Blood Society and Mrs.Asha Verenkar,Team Leader,Technical Support, GSACS deliberated.
  2. School Health check up at A J De Almeida High School Ponda, over 5 days from 12-01-15 to 16-01-15 . In all 220 students were examined. Dr.Purnima Usgaonker did the check up of girls and Dr.Smita Usgaoncar, did the clinical check up of boys . Dr.Shweta Khandeparkar did the ophthalmic check up, Dr.Samidha Khandeparkar did the haematological check up viz .Hb, and Blood group. Dr.Jaya Shenoy did the Dental Checkup. Cases pertaining to ENT problems identified ,were refered to Dr.Laxmikant Naik and cases of Skin were refered to Dr.Gaurish Laad. Dr.Purnima counselled the girls regarding eating habits, Hygiene, Vaccinations including newer vaccines , misuse of cosmetics and refraining from use of mobiles etc, and motivating them towards self respect. She also handed over sets of her books on nutrition and family health one set each to all the twelve divisions of std.IXth.
    This school Health check up programme organised by the PTA Health Club was earlier inaugurated on 21st December 14 at the hands of Dr.Jagdish Cacodcar who guided the students and parents in his speech as the chief guest.
  3. General Medical Checkup camp was held at Government High School from 09/01/15 to 10/01/15, Thane, Valpoi. Dr Ashok Amshekar participated and also delivered a lecture on AIDS awareness and problems of adolescence.
  4. Lecture given by Dr Ashok Amshekar to Narishakti Mahila Mandal, Valpoi on Problems of women and health awareness on 15/01/15.
  5. IMA and UNICEF had organized a “Regional Training of Trainers” on 17-01-15 and 18-01-15 at Mumbai on “Child Sex Abuse”(CSA). Dr.Darshana Naik, member, IMA Ponda had participated and has been designated as IMA National Faculty for Training on CSA.
  6. 20/01/15: Blood Donation Awareness lecture by Dr.Ashok Amshekar at Govt. Higher Secondary School,Valpoi.
  7. 31/1/15: Talk by Dr.PurnimaUsgaonker on “Eating habits”to children of Vth standard from 5 schools of Priol area held at Swastik Vidyalay Priol. Around 70 students and 50 parents attended . Many Students participated in the discussions . This was followed by talk by Dr.Purnima on the same topic to only the parents of the same children with good discussions on various queries raised by parents on different difficult situations and guidance on each of the situations by Dr.Purnima towards solving the difficulties. Total programme took almost 3 hours from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.
